Quotable Quotes

"Are we human? Or are we dancer?
My sign is vital. My hands are cold
And I'm on my knees. Looking for the answer

Are we human? Or are we dancer?"

~ The Killers in their song, Human

Out of the blue.

That's quite the comeback for this chapter that I started sometime back.

This AotW offers a different take on things.
Is what we perceive to see really in fact
what is there to be seen?
Or is there always another viewing-angle;

another set of eyes to view things through?

Resu-erection

I haven't done this in the longest time, almost forgot how to.

Anyway, going AWOL all this while has made me want to
delete this thing that people call a blog. But you know what?
You don't give up on something just because you're lazy.

I'm sorry, but for whatever godforsaken excuse I can chalk up,
laze will not be one of them. Haha, okay who am I kidding?

I just decided against it, on account of so many people having
deleted theirs. And I just don't go with the flow. A rebel perhaps? ;-)

So here I am, lying in this sea of a bed.
Sprawled. Supine. Smiling.
Nothing else could be better.

And the antibiotics I'm on seem to be making me all woozy.
So jack this bitch, I'm going to sleep.

Oh, and by the way, how clever is the title? =P

Smile

(Sigh of relief)
After months of agony, I can finally smile.
And not the fake kind of smile you reserve for old aunties.
The genuine type, you know, that is infectious.
Annoying, really.

I found out that I'm going to Monash University to pursue my MBBS.
Orientation starts on the 23rd, which is freaking me out because I can visualise the day. You know, like how when you have an exam,
and
its nearing, and you can actually see the day it starts
in this little calendar in your head.

Okay, maybe its just me then.

* * *

And don't be silly.
No, I'm not going off to Melbourne in 13 days.
That would be insane. I'm going to be at the Sunway campus.
But somehow, I don't really understand why the reaction that I seem to be getting is that I'm
just going to KL. Fine, fine, its only a four hour drive from Penang. But it'll be the very first time I'll be moving out.
Dude, laundry? How the hell does anyone figure out ironing?

Haha, don't mind me. After such a tumultuous journey,
I'm just finally contented.
Contented, and smiling.
Now lets go drink! =)

Bric-A-Brac

All good things come to those who wait.
BUT
Time and tide wait for no man.
The pen is mightier than the sword.
BUT
Actions speak louder than words.
You're never too old to learn.
BUT
You can't teach an old dog new tricks.
Slow and steady wins the race.
BUT
Time and tide wait for no man.
Too many cooks spoil the broth.
BUT
Many hands make light work.
Birds of a feather flock together.
BUT
Opposites attract.
Doubt is the beginning of wisdom.
BUT
Faith will move mountains.
Silence is golden.
BUT
The squeaky wheel gets the grease.
Wise men think alike.
BUT
Fools seldom differ.
Absence makes the heart grow fonder.
BUT
Out of sight, out of mind.
Look before you leap.
BUT
Strike while the iron is hot.
Hold fast to the words of your ancestors.
BUT
Wise men make proverbs and fools repeat them.

Quotable Quotes

"I'm still alive but I'm barely breathing
Just prayed to a god that I don't believe in"

~ The Script in their song, Breakeven

Artwork of the Week

It seems that as though, for these past few weeks, all my posts comprise AotW's, with intermittent thoughts that stir in my mind.

I have, of course, myself, and only myself to blame.
I just haven't been in the right frame of mind to express myself.
No, it is not writer's block. Its a thirst for inspiration.

And on the quest for stimulus, I came across this poem that changed something. So as the first poem to ever grace AotW, I present it to you, as how Wordsworth would have intended.

I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud

I wandered lonely as a cloud
That floats on high o'er vales and hills,
When all at once I saw a crowd,
A host, of golden daffodils;
Beside the lake, beneath the trees,
Fluttering and dancing in the breeze.

Continuous as the stars that shine
And twinkle on the milky way,
They stretched in never-ending line
Along the margin of a bay:
Ten thousand saw I at a glance,
Tossing their heads in sprightly dance.

The waves beside them danced; but they
Out-did the sparkling waves in glee:
A poet could not but be gay,
In such a jocund company:
I gazed---and gazed---but little thought
What wealth the show to me had brought:

For oft, when on my couch I lie
In vacant or in pensive mood,
They flash upon that inward eye
Which is the bliss of solitude;
And then my heart with pleasure fills,
And dances with the daffodils.

Artwork of the Week

Hello dear readers. This week's AotW caught my eye instantly, when I first glanced upon it. Might I say, its probably one of my most favourite posts to date.

The simplicity of the ivory backdrop provides a perfect platform for the unique piece to stand out. And the colours seem to emanate off the geometrical shapes, with such fluidity.

Hope is the Thing with Feathers

The universe works in mysterious ways.
Whatever you want, its harder to get.
The things you are already blessed with,
you take for granted.

That's the order of things.

But just because it is, doesn't mean it should be.

So I think positively. I picture myself with what I want.
Pensive, in the realms of my mind, everything is as it should be.
But then I take that harsh journey back to reality.

And suddenly, I just don't know what to do.
How do I move on? Why me?

I try my best. I put myself out there.
I dedicate myself to the world.
I immerse myself in the waters of Life.
Of Love. And of Sense.

Whatever said and done, I am still going to pick myself up.
I shall muster the strength, and will to succeed.

I think I can, I think I can, I think I can? No.
I know I can! I know I can! I know I can!

Somewhere over the rainbow, way up high.
And the dreams that you dreamed of, once in a lullaby
I will find my rainbow
.

And those dreams will become reality.

But, who can say where the road goes,
Where the day flows?
Only time.

Artwork of the Week

The human body is a beautiful thing.
A woman's body is even more ravishing.

This week's AotW celebrates the exquisiteness that is the female form, juxtaposed against vibrant hues.

Hellogoodbye

Its 2009. A new year. A fresh start. However, I only say that because its what people want to hear and believe.

But truth be told, is there really such a thing as a fresh start? We carry along with us, the skeletons in our closet, the friendships of our past, and everything along the way. So what is this fresh start that we humans strive so hard to obtain?

Yes for most of us, a new year is a new experience. But in a lifetime, we don't get the chance to keep on wiping our slates clean, just because its the new year. We just don't.

I apologise for a rather somber post, but for some unexplained reason, I'm not feeling too good right now. I had an awesome New Year's. And I'm usually a very happy person. I guess I'm just waiting for things to fall into place. All I can do is wait.

The thing is, I'm not a very patient guy.
